SUPPORTING THOSE WHO SERVE

We are proud to recognize Rafael Salter, a National Guard veteran and dedicated correctional officer from Andalusia, Alabama, as this year’s Smiles for Veterans recipient. After years of service to his state and country, Rafael has faced ongoing dental challenges—cracked and broken teeth, multiple missing teeth, and chronic discomfort that makes everyday life difficult.

As the sole provider for his family, Rafael and his wife are raising four children, including their niece and nephew, both of whom have learning disabilities. Even while managing the demands of parenthood, financial pressures, and limited access to comprehensive dental care, Rafael continues to give everything he has to support his family and community.

A restored smile is deeply meaningful to him. As Rafael shared, a smile is often the first thing people notice—and years of dental issues have affected his confidence, comfort, and daily function. This program will give him the opportunity to eat, speak, and smile without worry again.

Through a full-arch restoration , Rafael will receive a permanent, natural-looking new smile using as few as four dental implants per arch. This life-changing treatment will restore not only his oral health, but also his confidence and quality of life.
